Alarm Controls DJ-1 Electromagnetic Lock Installation Drill Jig

The DJ-1 is an installation template for mounting Alarm Controls electromagnetic locks. You clamp or position it at the header, and it locates the through-holes and fastener positions for the maglock and its armature so the drilling lines up the first time. It covers the 600 Series and 1200 Series maglocks, and a 6 inch drill bit ships with it.

The DJ-1 is cut for the Alarm Controls 600 Series and 1200 Series maglocks. If you are installing a different Alarm Controls series or another manufacturer's magnet, the hole pattern will not match, since the jig is built to those two series only.

A 6 inch drill bit is included with the DJ-1, so the jig arrives ready to use for the through-drilling. You still supply the fasteners and mounting hardware that come with the maglock itself.

You can lay a maglock out by hand, but the header holes have to line up with the magnet body and the armature has to sit square to it, or the magnet will not pull full holding force. The DJ-1 fixes that geometry for the 600 and 1200 Series, which is why installers doing more than one opening use it. For a single one-off install on a different maglock series, the template supplied in that lock's carton is the way to go.
