Both versions ship as a complete 12 VDC access control package. The LNB-6 includes a Model 600S UL listed magnetic lock, a Model TS-2 UL listed request-to-exit station, a Model KP-100A backlit keypad, and a 12 VDC 700 mA UL listed plug-in power supply with leads. The LNB-12 swaps in the Model 1200S mag lock and the KP-400 weatherproof, vandal resistant backlit keypad, with the same TS-2 station and 12 VDC 700 mA plug-in supply. 2) Which Lock N' A Box kit should I use on an exterior door?
Go with the LNB-12. Its KP-400 keypad is weatherproof and vandal resistant, and Alarm Controls calls the kit out for interior or exterior doors. The LNB-6 with the KP-100A keypad is for interior doors only. Either way the lock itself is rated for 14 to 131F (minus 10 to 55C), so keep that in mind on unconditioned openings.

Those are lock bodies rather than complete kits, so the keypad, exit device and power supply are specified separately.
6) The header on my aluminum storefront is too narrow for a standard mag lock - what should I use instead?
The Lock N' A Box kits use the surface mounted 600S or 1200S magnet, which needs standard header depth. The Lock N' A Box kits pair the magnet with a TS-2 request to exit station, a backlit keypad and a 12 VDC plug-in supply, and can be ordered with the SREX-100 request to exit motion sensor in place of or alongside the pushbutton station. 10) Does the LNB kit monitor door position or magnetic bond?
