1) Is the EFLOW6NB a board only, or does it come in an enclosure?
Board only. The EFLOW6NB is supplied as a bare power supply/charger board, so you are mounting it into an existing enclosure or a separately ordered cabinet. If you need the supply shipped in its own grey enclosure, order the boxed version rather than the NB board.
2) Will a 6A power supply run my maglocks and card readers on one board?
Budget by current draw. The EFLOW6NB delivers 6A total at the selected voltage, plus a separate auxiliary output. Add up the holding current of every lock, reader, REX and controller you intend to feed, leave headroom, and stay under 6A. Typical 12V maglocks pull well under an amp each, so a small opening group fits; a large multi-door job usually wants a multi-output supply instead.
3) Does the EFLOW6NB drop power to the locks when the fire alarm trips?
Yes, it has a fire alarm interface (FAI) input. Tie the fire alarm relay to the FAI terminals and the output is disconnected on alarm, which is how egress doors on maglocks are required to release. Without an FAI-equipped supply you would need an external relay to do the same job.
4) Does this Altronix board charge backup batteries or do I need a separate charger?
It is a power supply/charger, so battery charging is built in. Connect sealed lead acid or gel batteries at the correct voltage for the output you selected, 12V or 24V, and the board maintains them and carries the load through a mains outage. No separate charging circuit is needed.
5) I need to replace the guts of a Von Duprin PS873 power supply. Will this Altronix board drop in?
Not as a direct swap. The EFLOW6NB is a standalone AC-to-DC supply board with its own mounting and terminal layout, not a drop-in for another manufacturer's chassis. For a PS873 you want a board built for that cabinet, such as the Command Access VD2-873 replacement relay board. Use the EFLOW6NB where you are building or repowering a supply of your own.
6) Can a Command Access DS1+ board be used in place of the Altronix EFLOW6NB?
No. The EFLOW6NB is a power supply charger board that converts a 120VAC, 60Hz input into a single 12VDC or 24VDC output rated at 6A. The Command Access DS1+ is a delay/sequencer board with bi-directional control for 12-24VDC circuits - it times and switches power that something else supplies, and it does not rectify line voltage or charge standby batteries. If you need the DC source itself, that is the EFLOW6NB; the DS1+ would sit downstream of it.
7) What does LinQ2 ready mean on this Altronix power supply?
LinQ2 ready means the EFLOW6NB board accepts an add-on network communication module for remote monitoring and control of the supply, rather than having the network hardware built in. The board works fully standalone without it; the module is a separate item if you want to see supply status and battery condition over the network.
