Metallics SWA1236 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the SWA1236 approved for cracked concrete?
Yes. The SWA1236 is a cracked concrete rated anchor, which is what structural and seismic jobs call for when the specification references anchoring in cracked concrete rather than uncracked only. Uncracked-only anchors cannot be substituted where the drawing calls for cracked concrete performance.
2) How many anchors come in a Metallics SWA1236 jar?
Each jar holds 25 of the 1/2 x 3-3/4 inch anchors. The jar pack is the ordering unit, so a job needing 100 anchors takes four jars.
3) Will the SWA1236 work in hollow block or brick instead of concrete?
No. The SWA1236 is specified for concrete, including cracked concrete. Hollow CMU and brick need an anchor rated for those base materials; putting a 1/2 inch concrete anchor into a hollow cell gives you no reliable hold.
4) What is the correct Metallics part number to reorder these 1/2 inch concrete anchors?
Order Metallics SWA1236. That part number covers the 1/2 x 3-3/4 inch cracked concrete anchor supplied 25 to a jar.
