Metallics MAU14 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size are the Metallics MAU14 anchors?
The MAU14 is a #14 x 1-3/8 inch anchor. The #14 refers to the screw size it accepts and 1-3/8 inches is the anchor length, so you need at least that much usable depth in the hole behind the wall or substrate face.
2) What screw do I need for a #14 x 1-3/8 inch Metallics MAU14 anchor?
Match the anchor to a #14 screw. The MAU14 is sized for that gauge, and the screw needs to be long enough to pass through whatever you are fastening plus engage the full 1-3/8 inch anchor body.
3) What is the manufacturer part number for the Metallics #14 x 1-3/8 inch anchor jar?
MAU14 is the Metallics part number, and it is the jar of 50 in the #14 x 1-3/8 inch size. Order by MAU14 if you are matching what is already on a job.
4) Are Metallics MAU14 anchors meant for electrical work?
Yes. Metallics catalogs the MAU14 as an electrical fastener, the kind of anchor used to hang boxes, straps, clamps and small enclosures. It is a general anchor though, so nothing about it restricts it to electrical trades.
