Metallics TS3412SSD Anchors 3/4 x 12 Wdg SS (Box 10)

Wedge anchors like the 3/4 x 12 TS3412SSD are designed for solid, poured concrete. They expand against the wall of the drilled hole, so hollow CMU, brick, or grout-filled block will not develop the hold they are meant for. For hollow base material use a sleeve anchor, a screw anchor rated for block, or an adhesive anchor with a screen tube instead.

Ten anchors per box, sold as a box pack. For a job needing a run of 3/4 inch stainless wedge anchors, count your hole layout in multiples of 10 and add spares for a bit that wanders or a hole that blows out at the edge of the slab.

Stainless is the reason to pick the TS3412SSD over a plated carbon steel wedge anchor. Exterior slabs, pool decks, loading docks, wash-down rooms, and coastal work all chew up zinc-plated anchors; stainless holds up to the moisture. If the fastening is indoors and dry, a plated carbon steel wedge anchor of the same 3/4 x 12 size does the same mechanical job.

A rotary hammer with a 3/4 inch carbide SDS bit, a blow-out bulb or vacuum to clear the hole of dust, and a wrench or impact socket to pull the nut down. The TS3412SSD comes with its own nut and washer as part of the anchor assembly; the drill, bit, and tooling are separate. Clean holes matter here, since dust left in the hole is the usual cause of a wedge anchor that spins instead of setting.

A wedge anchor is a permanent, non-removable anchor. Once the clip expands against the concrete the body stays in the hole, so the most you can do is back the nut off and cut or grind the stud flush. If you need the fastening to come apart later, plan on a drop-in internally threaded anchor with a removable bolt rather than a 3/4 x 12 wedge stud.
