The TS387SSD is stainless steel rather than zinc plated carbon steel, so it holds up in exterior concrete, wash-down areas, parking structures, pool decks and coastal work where a plated anchor would bleed rust down the face of the slab. For dry interior anchoring, a plated 3/8 inch wedge anchor does the same mechanical job for less.

Wedge anchors are a solid-concrete fastener. The TS387SSD works by a clip expanding against the wall of a drilled hole in solid base material, which hollow block and brick with voids will not reliably provide. For CMU or brick, use a sleeve anchor or a screw anchor rated for masonry instead.

A hammer drill with a 3/8 inch carbide bit, a blow-out bulb or vacuum to clear the hole, a hammer to drive the anchor through the fixture, and a wrench for the nut. The nut and washer come assembled on the anchor; nothing else ships with the box of 25.
