Metallics WAKJ24 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size hole do I drill for a 5/16 inch plastic wall anchor?
The Metallics WAKJ24 anchors are 5/16 inch, so the hole is drilled to match the 5/16 inch anchor body and the anchor is tapped flush before the screw goes in. Drilling oversize is the usual cause of a spinning anchor in drywall.
2) How many anchors come in the Metallics WAKJ24 wall anchor kit?
The WAKJ24 ships as a jar of 100 anchors. That is the kit quantity, so one jar covers a full day of device and fixture mounting without reordering per box.
3) Are these gray plastic wall anchors suitable for drywall and masonry?
Gray plastic expansion anchors like the Metallics WAKJ24 are the general-purpose type used in drywall, plaster, block, and brick: the sleeve expands against the hole wall as the screw drives in. In hollow drywall they hold light loads such as cover plates, raceway, and small boxes; for heavier hollow-wall loads a toggle is the better choice.
4) Do the Metallics WAKJ24 anchors come with screws?
The WAKJ24 is sold as an anchor kit of 100 plastic anchors. Plan on supplying the screws sized to the 5/16 inch anchor for whatever you are fastening, since the fastener length depends on your material thickness.
5) What is the exact part number to order the Metallics 5/16 inch plastic wall anchor jar?
Order Metallics part number WAKJ24. It is the 5/16 inch gray plastic wall anchor kit packed 100 per jar.
