Arrow 16SAT-87 26D – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What exactly is the Arrow 16SAT-87 escutcheon, and does it include the bushing?
The 16SAT-87 is the escutcheon plate for Arrow AM and BM series mechanical lock cases, and it ships less bushing. That means no cylinder bushing is in the box; you either reuse the bushing already on the door or order the correct one separately. It is the trim plate only, not a lock, not a cylinder.
2) Which Arrow cylinder codes does the 16SAT-87 escutcheon cover, outside and inside?
Outside, it covers codes 11-13, 16, 17, 19, 22-24 and 31-34. Inside, it covers codes 31-34. Match the code on the function you are rebuilding before ordering; if your inside function falls outside 31-34, this is not the plate for that side.
3) Will this escutcheon fit an Arrow lock that isn't AM or BM series?
No. The 16SAT-87 is cut for Arrow AM and BM series lock cases. Other Arrow lock families use different escutcheon prep and hole spacing, so identify the case in the door as AM or BM first.
4) What finishes can I get the Arrow 16SAT-87 escutcheon in to match the rest of my doors?
Eight finishes: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 612 satin bronze, 613 oil-rubbed satin bronze, 625 bright chrome, 626 satin chrome, 629 bright stainless and 630 satin stainless. If you are patching one opening in a building standardized on 626, order 626 and the plate will read the same as the rest of the floor.
5) Do I need to order anything else with the 16SAT-87 escutcheon to finish the repair?
Plan on a bushing, since the plate comes without one. Anything else on the lock, cylinder, trim and mounting screws, stays as it is unless it is damaged. The escutcheon itself is a like-for-like replacement part, so a working AM or BM case does not need to be touched.
6) Is the Arrow 16SAT-87 escutcheon suitable for high-traffic commercial openings or is it a residential part?
It is a commercial-grade part, used on AM/BM lock cases in offices, schools, hospitals, retail, warehouses, multi-tenant residential and government buildings. For an MRO shop standardizing repair stock across a facility, it is the escutcheon to carry for those two lock series.
7) Is the 16SAT-87 a genuine Arrow part or an aftermarket copy?
Genuine Arrow. It is built to Arrow's own dimensions for the AM/BM lock case, which is what keeps the cylinder and spindle openings lined up when the plate goes back on.
