B-LINE SB20603YZ – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the B-Line SB20603YZ spacer suitable for damp or outdoor electrical work?
It is steel with a yellow zinc chromate finish, which is a plated corrosion coating intended for dry indoor and sheltered locations. For sustained outdoor exposure, wash-down areas, or corrosive environments, go with a hot-dip galvanized or stainless support accessory instead.
2) What is the spacer used for in a conduit or channel support assembly?
It is an auxiliary support accessory, not a load-bearing bracket on its own. The spacer goes between a support component and the structure or another fitting to hold a fixed 1-3/8 inch gap, which is how you clear a weld, a flange, an obstruction, or run one layer of conduit off the wall behind another. You still need the bolt or rod and the clamp or strap to complete the assembly, since the spacer supplies only the standoff.
