B-LINE SB20604YZ – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the B-Line SB20604YZ spacer suitable for outdoor or damp electrical installations?
It is steel with a yellow zinc chromate finish, which is a plated corrosion coating intended for dry indoor and protected service. For wet exterior runs, rooftops, or corrosive process areas, spec a stainless or hot dip galvanized support accessory instead.
2) What is a spacer used for in a strut or conduit support assembly?
A spacer like the B-Line SB20604YZ is a hollow standoff that sits between a channel, clamp, or bracket and the mounting surface, letting you set a fixed gap so conduit, cable tray, or equipment clears an obstruction or a wall irregularity. You stack it on the same bolt that carries the support, so the fastener length has to grow by the .63 in the spacer adds.
3) Does the B-Line SB20604YZ spacer come with bolts or nuts?
No. The SB20604YZ is the spacer only, sold as a single piece. You supply the bolt, nut, and any washers, and remember to size the bolt .63 in longer than you would without the spacer in the stack.
4) Is there more than one size of the B-Line SB20604YZ, or is it a single part number?
Single part number. SB20604YZ is ordered as one configuration, steel with yellow zinc chromate at .63 in height. If you need a different standoff depth, that is a different B-Line part, not an option on this one.
