1) Will the Eaton Quicklag QCHW2055 work on a 240V single-phase panel?
Yes. The QCHW2055 is rated 120/240 V and is a two-pole breaker, so it lands across both legs of a 120/240 V single-phase system for a 240 V load, or serves a 120/240 V multiwire circuit. It will not serve a 480 V or 600 V system.
2) Does this Quicklag breaker bolt into a load center, or does it wire straight to cable?
The QCHW2055 is a cable-in/cable-out design. Conductors land on terminals at both the line and load end rather than the breaker clipping onto a panel bus, so it is used as a standalone or enclosed industrial breaker.
