It clamps to the tee itself, so the fixture is held to the grid rather than resting loose in it. One clamp handles one fixture, so figure your quantity per fixture, not per room.
2) How much weight will the BA-SFC acoustical tee clamp hold?
Rated at 200 lbs load capacity. A standard 2 x 4 troffer sits well under that, so the rating gives room for the fixture plus the seismic loading the clamp is there to resist.
