1) Will an Eaton FD2045V handle a 480V panel, or is it only rated for 240V?
The FD2045V is rated 600 Vac and 250 Vdc, so it can be applied on 480V systems. Watch the interrupting rating, though: it is 65 kAIC at 240 Vac but drops to 35 kAIC at 480 Vac. If your available fault current at 480V exceeds 35 kA, this breaker is not adequate for that location.
2) Is the FD2045V a complete breaker or just an interchangeable trip unit?
It ships as a complete breaker in the Eaton Series C F-frame, FD type, 45A two-pole. You are not buying a trip unit that has to go into a separate frame, and there is nothing to field-assemble to make it functional.
3) Can the trip setting on this 45A FD breaker be adjusted in the field?
No. The FD2045V uses a fixed thermal, fixed magnetic trip unit, so both the overload and the instantaneous magnetic pickup are factory set at 45A. If your coordination study calls for an adjustable instantaneous setting, you need a different trip type, not this one.
4) I need to replace a two-pole 45A F-frame breaker in an Eaton Series C panel. Is FD2045V the right part number?
FD2045V is the Eaton Series C F-frame, FD type, two-pole 45A complete breaker. Match the existing unit on frame letter and type as well as amps: an FD at 65 kAIC/240 Vac and 35 kAIC/480 Vac is a higher interrupting class than the lighter F-frame types, so an FD can replace a lower-rated same-frame breaker but a lower type cannot replace an FD.
5) Does this Eaton breaker come with line side terminals too, or only load side?
Terminals are supplied on the load side. Plan the line-side connection according to how the breaker mounts in your panel or enclosure, since line terminations are not part of what comes on this unit.
6) Will this breaker work on a 50 Hz system for imported equipment?
Yes. The FD2045V is rated 50/60 Hz, so it is suitable for either a 60 Hz North American system or 50 Hz equipment.
