1) What beam flange thickness will this B-Line push-on conduit fastener fit?
It clips onto flange edges from 0.56 inch up to 0.75 inch thick. Thinner flanges, like light-gauge bar joist angle, will not hold it securely, and anything over 3/4 inch will not seat.
2) Do I need bolts or screws to install the BP-12-E-9-12?
No fasteners or drilling. It is a push-type clamp that mounts to the beam flange by hand, then the conduit pushes into the clip. That is the whole install, which is why electricians use these for long horizontal runs under steel.
3) Is this B-Line conduit beam clip UL listed for an inspected commercial job?
Yes, the BP series beam fastener is UL/CUL listed, which covers both US and Canadian inspection on commercial and institutional electrical work.
4) Can I use a push-on beam clip instead of a conduit strap and threaded rod?
For conduit running along or across a steel beam flange, the push-on clip is the faster method: no rod, no strut, no anchors. Use strap and rod when the conduit has to drop below the structure, when there is no exposed flange edge between 0.56 and 0.75 inch to clip to, or when the run is larger than 1/2 inch conduit.
5) Will this clip work on 1/2 inch rigid as well as EMT, or do I need two different parts?
One part covers all three. The BP-12-E-9-12 is rated for 1/2 inch EMT, 1/2 inch IMC, and rigid, so a crew running mixed raceway on the same steel only has to stock the one fastener.
