B-LINE FTS12SBZN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Eaton B-Line FTS12SBZN splice bar used for on Flextray wire basket tray?
FTS12SBZN is a long splice bar for Eaton B-Line Flextray wire basket tray. It joins two runs of basket tray end to end, giving a mechanical and electrical connection across the joint. It is a 12 inch bar length version, made of steel with a zinc plated finish.
2) Is the Eaton B-Line Flextray long splice bar UL Classified?
Yes. The FTS12SBZN long splice bar is UL Classified and carries CSA compliance, which matters if your inspector wants the tray system bonded and listed components used at every splice point.
3) Is the FTS12SBZN splice bar suitable for indoor electrical rooms and dry interior runs?
Zinc plated steel is the finish here, which is the standard indoor construction for Flextray splice hardware. It suits interior runs like data closets, electrical rooms, and above ceiling cable pathways. For exterior, wash down, or corrosive environments, specify a stainless or hot dip galvanized splice instead.
4) Does the FTS12SBZN long splice bar work with any brand of wire basket tray?
It is built for Eaton B-Line Flextray wire basket tray. Wire mesh trays from other makers use different wire diameters and mesh spacing, so match the splice hardware to the tray brand you installed rather than mixing systems at a joint.
