B-LINE SB109CYZ – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the yellow zinc finish on the B-Line SB109CYZ clip suitable for outdoor or damp locations?
The finish is yellow zinc chromate over steel, which is a plated corrosion-resistant coating intended for dry indoor use such as equipment rooms and data closets. It is not a hot-dip galvanized or stainless finish, so for exterior, wash-down, or corrosive environments choose a clip in a galvanized or stainless material instead.
2) Is the B-Line SB109CYZ bar framing clip a listed or certified component?
No listing or certification applies to this clip; certifications are marked Not Applicable. It is a mechanical framing accessory, not an electrical device, so if your spec calls for a listed component on this part of the assembly, this clip will not satisfy it on its own.
3) How thick is the steel on this B-Line bar framing clip?
It's formed from 11 gauge steel, a heavy structural gauge for a clip of this size, which is why a single piece weighs .95 lb. That weight matters if you're pricing out a full rack's worth of clips for freight or figuring hardware quantities on a submittal.
