B-LINE SB560223TG – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What exactly is the Eaton B-Line SB560223TG guard rail cover, and is the rack included?
SB560223TG is a guard rail cover accessory for Eaton B-Line series open frame racks, not a rack itself. It is formed from 11 gauge steel with a Telco gray powder coat, and it ships with a base cover, a receptacle cover and the mounting hardware needed to attach it. If you need the open frame rack too, that is a separate order.
2) What are the dimensions of the SB560223TG guard rail cover?
The cover measures 25.94 in length/depth, 23 in width and 2 in height, and weighs 13 lb. Use the 23 in width figure against your rack footprint before you commit, since an open frame rack base that is wider or narrower than that will not line up with the pre-drilled hardware.
3) Do I need to buy separate mounting hardware for the B-Line guard rail cover?
No. Mounting hardware comes in the box along with the base cover and receptacle cover, so a single order covers the install.
4) Will the Telco gray guard rail cover match my existing B-Line racks?
The finish is Telco gray powder coat, which is the standard B-Line series open rack color, so it matches racks and accessories already specified in Telco gray. Note the color attribute on record for this part also reads Network Blue, so if you are standardizing a room on one appearance, confirm the finish on the specific part you order.
5) Is the SB560223TG cover steel or plastic, and will it hold up in a data room with foot traffic?
It is steel, 11 gauge, with a powder coat finish, so it takes cart and foot contact at the base of an open frame rack far better than a molded plastic trim piece. At 13 lb for a 2 in tall part, the weight tells you it is a structural gauge cover rather than a cosmetic skin.
6) Does the B-Line guard rail cover carry any listings or certifications I can cite on a submittal?
Certifications are not applicable to this part. It is a passive steel cover for an open frame rack with no electrical function of its own, so there is no UL or similar listing to reference. The receptacle cover included with it is a cover plate, not a wiring device.
