B-LINE SB560223FB – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What exactly is the Eaton B-Line SB560223FB, a full rack or just an accessory?
SB560223FB is a guard rail cover for Eaton B-Line series open frame racks, not a complete rack. It is a formed 11 gauge steel cover panel finished in flat black powder coat, and it ships with a base cover, a receptacle cover and the mounting hardware needed to attach it.
2) Do I need to buy mounting hardware separately for the B-Line SB560223FB guard rail cover?
No. Mounting hardware is included with the SB560223FB, along with a base cover and a receptacle cover. For a data room install you only need the open frame rack it mounts to.
3) What size opening does the B-Line SB560223FB guard rail cover take up?
The cover measures 23 in wide, 25.94 in in length/depth, and 2 in high. Check those against the footprint of your open frame rack before ordering, since it is sized to a specific B-Line series open rack base rather than being a universal panel.
4) Will the B-Line SB560223FB match black racks already installed in my telecom room?
The finish is flat black powder coat, which matches the standard black B-Line open frame rack finish. Note the catalog color attribute reads Network Blue, so if you are standardizing an all-black room, order against the flat black powder coat finish designation on part SB560223FB.
5) How many part numbers do I need to order to cover the base and receptacle on a B-Line open rack?
One. SB560223FB is a single part number that brings the guard rail cover, the base cover and the receptacle cover together with hardware, so there is nothing to spec separately on the order form.
6) Is the B-Line guard rail cover steel or plastic, and how heavy is it to handle?
Steel, 11 gauge, weighing 13 lb. That is a one-person lift but heavy enough that you will want the rack anchored before you start fitting the cover.
7) Does the B-Line guard rail cover carry a UL listing or other certification?
No certification applies to this part. It is a sheet steel cover accessory for an open frame rack, so listings and ratings live with the rack and the powered equipment, not with the cover itself.
