B-LINE SB86083D066EW – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will a 3 inch wide vertical cable manager fit alongside my 66 inch open frame rack?
The Eaton B-Line SB86083D066EW is a rack mounted vertical cable manager built at 66 inches high and 3 inches wide, so it matches the height of a 66 inch open frame rack and takes up 3 inches of side-to-side space next to it. Overall depth is 60.375 inches. If your rack is a different height, this one will not line up top to bottom.
2) Can I mount PDUs directly to this B-Line cable manager?
Yes. The RCM manager is set up for direct PDU mounting, so rack PDUs attach to the manager itself rather than eating rack units in the frame. That keeps power strips in the vertical channel with the cabling.
3) Can I get to the cables from the back of the rack, or only the front?
Both sides. The manager has an access door gate on the front and the rear, so you can open it from either aisle to drop in or dress out cable without pulling the bundle through one side.
4) What color and finish is this Eaton B-Line vertical manager, and will it match white racks?
It comes in Eaton white powder coat with black plastic components, so it matches Eaton white open frame racks rather than a black rack lineup. If your row is black, order the black finish version instead.
5) Is the Eaton B-Line RCM vertical cable manager UL listed?
UL is the certification carried on the SB86083D066EW RCM manager, which is what most data center and institutional specs call for on rack and cable management hardware.
6) Does this come with the vertical cabling section, or is that ordered separately?
The vertical cabling section is included, so the unit ships as the cable channel plus front and rear access door gates. No separate cabling section to add to the order.
7) Is this cable manager aluminum or steel, and how much does it weigh?
Aluminum body, 23.7 lb. That is light enough for one person to hold in place while the mounting hardware goes in, and the aluminum keeps the weight off a tall two-post frame.
