B-LINE SB862812D078FB – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Eaton B-Line SB862812D078FB vertical cable manager fit a 7-foot open frame rack?
The SB862812D078FB stands 72.625 inches tall, which matches a standard 7-foot open frame rack upright. It measures 12 inches wide and 14 inches deep, so allow a 12 inch gap alongside the rack in your row layout before committing to it.
2) Is this cable manager single or double sided, and does it manage cable front and rear?
It is a double sided RCM manager with two vertical cabling sections, one for the front of the rack and one for the rear. That is the configuration you want on an open frame rack where patching runs on the front and equipment cords land at the back.
3) Can I mount rack PDUs inside this B-Line vertical manager?
Yes. The SB862812D078FB is built for direct PDU mounting, so a vertical rack PDU fastens into the manager channel rather than eating rack units in the frame. Confirm your PDU's mounting bracket pattern suits a direct-mount channel.
4) What holds the cables in, doors or gates?
Low density plastic gates, not solid doors. Cables push past the gate fingers and stay retained, and you can add or drop a run later without removing a cover. If your standard is a hinged solid door for appearance in a customer-facing room, this is not that product.
5) Does it come with the hardware to attach it to the rack?
Fifty push-in fasteners ship with the manager. Those are the fasteners for securing cable and components into the channel; rack-attachment hardware and any PDU brackets are separate items to spec with the rest of your build.
6) Is this aluminum manager UL listed for a data center install?
UL is the stated certification for this B-Line RCM manager. The frame is aluminum with a flat black powder coat and black plastic components, so it will match black open frame racks in the same row.
7) How much does this 72 inch vertical cable manager weigh for a two-man lift and floor load?
22.4 lb bare. It is aluminum rather than steel, which is why a full-height double sided manager stays in one-person handling range during install.
8) Do I need this if my rack is an open frame with clear front and rear access?
Open frame racks give unrestricted front and rear access, and this manager is designed around that, routing bundles vertically on both faces without blocking either side. Its job is keeping jumpers off the uprights and out of the equipment airflow, not enclosing them.
