B-LINE SB57166S084AL – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Eaton B-Line SB57166S084AL vertical cable manager fit a 7-foot open frame rack?
Yes. The SB57166S084AL vertical cabling section is 84 inches tall, which is the full height of a standard 7-foot (84 inch) open frame rack, so it runs floor to top alongside the rack uprights with no gap to fill.
2) How much floor and aisle space does this 84 inch B-Line vertical cable manager take up between racks?
It occupies a 6 inch wide by 6.375 inch deep footprint over its full 84 inch height. That 6 inch width is what you add to your row layout for each manager between or beside racks, and the 6.375 inch depth is the section body, before you account for the hinged gate swing on either side.
3) Can the gate on this B-Line vertical cabling section open from either side?
It is a dual hinging removable design with a plastic gate, so the door can swing from either side and lift off entirely. That matters in a tight aisle where you can only work from one direction, and it lets a tech drop the gate off completely when dressing in a large bundle.
4) Is this B-Line cable manager aluminum or steel, and does it match a brushed aluminum rack?
The frame is aluminum with a brushed aluminum finish, so it matches brushed aluminum open frame racks in the same row. Aluminum also keeps the section light for a 7-foot part, at 10.6 lb, which means one person can hold it in place while the mounting hardware goes in.
5) Is this B-Line section for vertical cable management or for mounting equipment?
It is strictly a vertical cable management section for routing and managing cable between equipment racks. There is no rack-unit mounting rail in it, so patch panels, switches and servers still go on the adjacent rack; this piece handles the vertical runs between them.
