B-LINE SB596V19106SSL – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Eaton B-Line SB596V19106SSL shelf fit a standard 19 inch open frame rack?
Yes. The shelf measures 19.31 inches across the mounting width, which is the standard 19 inch rack mounting pattern, and it mounts to the rack rails with the #12-24 hardware that comes with it. Depth is 20 inches and height is 6 inches, so allow 20 inches of clear space inside the rack footprint plus room at the rear of your equipment.
2) Do I need to buy mounting screws separately for this B-Line rack shelf?
No. The #12-24 mounting hardware ships with the shelf, so if your rack rails are tapped #12-24 you can install it as delivered. Racks with 10-32 tapped rails or square-hole rails needing cage nuts will require the matching hardware for that thread instead.
3) What does double sided mean on this rack mounted shelf?
It means the shelf is built to attach to rack rails on both the front and rear of an open frame rack rather than cantilevering off the front rails only. That front-and-rear support is what lets it carry heavier gear across the full 20 inch depth. If your rack has front rails only, this is not the shelf to use.
4) Is this a solid shelf or a vented one?
The SB596V19106SSL is a solid steel shelf, not vented. Solid is the choice when you are setting down tools, batteries, or small non-heat-producing boxes. If you are stacking active network or AV gear that relies on shelf airflow under the chassis, a vented shelf is the better pick.
5) How much does this B-Line shelf weigh, and how much rack space does it take up?
Shipping weight is 13.3 lb, which is a two-hand lift but a one-person install. At 6 inches tall it occupies roughly 3-1/2 rack units of vertical space, so plan your rack elevation around that before you fix equipment above and below it.
6) Will the silver finish on this shelf match my existing B-Line open frame rack?
The shelf is finished in silver powder coat over steel, the same finish B-Line uses on its silver open frame racks, so it matches a silver rack rather than a black one. If your racks are black, order the black-finish equivalent instead so the elevation looks consistent.
7) Can I order a single shelf or do these come in packs?
The SB596V19106SSL is a single shelf part number, ordered one at a time, so you can buy exactly the count your elevation calls for across multiple racks.
