B-LINE SB2261212YZ – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the B-Line SB2261212YZ runway support used for in a data or telecom room?
The Eaton B-Line SB2261212YZ is a floor-mounted runway support, used to support cable runway from objects such as the floor slab or structure. It is sized for 10 inch cable runway and is the piece that carries the runway where you cannot hang it from the ceiling or wall.
2) Is the B-Line SB2261212YZ runway support UL Listed?
Yes, the SB2261212YZ carries a UL Listing. That matters on inspected commercial and institutional jobs where every element of the cable support path has to be a listed component.
3) What material and finish is the B-Line 10 inch floor runway support made from?
ASTM A36 structural steel with a yellow zinc finish. A36 is the standard structural carbon steel grade, and the yellow zinc plating is a dry-interior finish, which suits equipment rooms and telecom closets rather than wet or outdoor locations.
4) How much room do I need to allow on the floor for this B-Line runway support?
Plan for a footprint and stand-off of 15.75 by 12 by 12 inches. At 3.2 pounds it is a one-hand set, so a single tech can position it and then anchor it before the runway drops in.
5) Do I get floor anchors with the B-Line SB2261212YZ?
The SB2261212YZ is the steel support itself. Concrete anchors or floor fasteners are selected for your slab and are ordered separately, along with the hardware that ties the runway to the support.
6) What part number do I order for the B-Line 10 inch yellow zinc floor runway support?
Order Eaton B-Line part SB2261212YZ. It is a single configuration, so there is no finish or size option to specify beyond the number itself.
7) Can I use this B-Line runway support outdoors or in a damp utility area?
Better not to. The yellow zinc plating over A36 steel is an interior finish; for exterior runs or damp, corrosive spaces look for a hot dip galvanized or stainless support instead.
