It's a steel mounting bracket that installs with the channel opening facing downward, used to hang or support strut-mounted runs, conduit racks, and equipment off a wall or structure. It measures 12 inches long, 3.5 inches high and 1.62 inches wide, and carries a uniform load capacity of 600.

The finish is hot-dipped galvanized steel, which is the finish specified for damp, wet and exterior locations, so it suits outdoor racks, parking structures, tunnels and wash-down areas rather than being limited to dry interior use.

With the opening down, the channel nuts and hardware load into the underside of the bracket, which is what you want when you are hanging conduit, cable tray or pipe below the bracket arm. An upward opening bracket is the one to use when equipment sits on top of the arm. Same 12 inch reach either way, but the hardware orientation decides which one fits your detail.
