B-LINE B3064-3PLN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How much weight will the B-Line B3064-3PLN adjustable strut bracket hold?
The B3064-3PLN is rated for a 600 lb load capacity. That is the bracket itself, so size the pipe clamps, the strut it mounts to, and the wall anchors to carry at least as much, since the weakest element in the run sets the real working limit.
2) What size is the B-Line B3064-3PLN strut bracket, and how far off the wall will it carry pipe?
Dimensions are 27 x 24 x 2 inches, with 27 inches given as height, 24 inches as length/depth and 2 inches as width. The 24 inch dimension is what governs how far out from the wall you can run pipe, and the bracket weighs 13.46 lb, so plan on anchoring into structure rather than a hollow wall.
3) Can I use this B-Line bracket to hang pipe off a wall instead of trapezing from the deck?
That is exactly what it is built for. The B3064-3PLN is an adjustable strut bracket for supporting pipe from walls, so you fasten the bracket to the wall and clamp the pipe out on the arm. Where you have no usable wall surface, a trapeze between deck-mounted strut is the alternative approach.
4) What does "Plain" finish mean on the B3064-3PLN strut bracket, and can I use it outdoors?
Plain means the bracket ships with no applied coating or plating. For dry interior mechanical and electrical rooms that is normal practice. For exterior, wash-down, or damp locations, specify a coated or stainless version of the fitting instead, because an uncoated surface will start showing corrosion.
5) Does the B-Line B3064-3PLN come with pipe clamps or mounting fasteners?
What you are ordering is the adjustable strut bracket itself, model B3064-3PLN. Pipe clamps or straps, strut nuts, and the wall anchors or bolts are separate line items, so add them to the order if you want the assembly complete when the crew opens the box.
6) I need to standardize wall pipe supports across a facility. Is there one model number to spec?
For repeat orders, spec B-Line part number B3064-3PLN. It is a single-model item, so there are no finish or size options to get wrong on a requisition, and every unit comes in at the same 600 lb rating and 27 x 24 x 2 inch footprint.
7) Is the B-Line B3064-3PLN strut bracket a listed or certified product?
Certifications are shown as Not Applicable for the B3064-3PLN bracket, so do not carry it on a submittal as a listed assembly. Engineers reviewing a support detail usually work off the 600 lb load rating and the 24 inch arm dimension, and those are the numbers to put on the drawing.
