1) Does the M22S-W3 selector switch include contact blocks, or do I have to order them separately?
The M22S-W3 is an operator only. It ships with the contact block mounting adapter, but the contact blocks themselves are separate and have to be ordered to suit the circuit you're switching. Plan on one block per contact you need behind the three-position rotary actuator.
2) What panel hole size does the M22S-W3 selector switch need?
It's a 22.5 mm operator, so it drops into the standard 22.5 mm panel cutout used across the M22 line. Body footprint is 1.17 x 1.17 x .93 inches, which is what you want to check for clearance behind the panel once a contact block stack is attached.
3) Is the M22S-W3 spring return or does it stay where you turn it?
Out of the box it's momentary, so it springs back to center from either side. It can be converted in the field to maintained operation by removing a color coded adapter, so if you need the selector to hold position for a hand/off/auto style circuit you don't need a different part number.
4) What is marked on the M22S-W3 knob positions?
The three positions are inscribed I, O and II, with etching codes X1, X0 and X2. That's the standard two-source or two-speed layout: one supply on the left, off in the center, the second on the right. If your drawing calls for hand/off/auto lettering, this is not the marked version you want.
