B-Line M22 Modular Three Position Key-Operated Selector Switch

No contacts are included. What ships is the key actuator head, one key, and one contact block mounting adapter. You add the N/O or N/C contact blocks your circuit needs, which is how the M22 modular system works: head, adapter, then contacts stacked on the back.

It's a three-position key selector with a maintained center and right position and spring return from the left. The key is removable in the center and right positions only, not the left. So a left-hand turn is momentary (it snaps back when you let go), while center and right stay put and let you take the key with you to lock the selection in.

Yes. The key removal positions on this switch can be changed in the field with M22 coding adapters, so if the as-shipped center/right removal doesn't suit your sequence, you don't need a different part number.

This actuator is supplied with key code MS1, which is the common M22 key code. Order more units of the same code and one key operates all of them, which is the usual approach when a maintenance crew needs a single key for several machines or panels. One key ships with each switch.

Use the key version when the position change has to be restricted to authorized people: bypassing a guard, switching to manual or maintenance mode, enabling a hazardous function. Because the key pulls out in the center and right positions, the selected state stays locked in once the key is gone. A knob or lever selector is the better choice for routine operator duty like hand/off/auto that anyone on the line should be able to change.

It's non-illuminated. There is no lamp or LED element in the head, so if you need position feedback on the panel you'll want a separate M22 indicator light wired from a contact block.

The mechanical rating is 100,000 operations. That's plenty for shift-change or maintenance-mode duty turned a few times a day, but it's worth noting if you're putting a key switch into a high-cycle production role that gets operated hundreds of times per shift.
