1) What panel hole size does the M22-WS-MS5 key selector switch need?
It mounts in the standard 22.5 mm round panel cutout used across the M22 modular line. The actuator body itself measures 1.17 by 1.17 by .81 inches, so allow that much clearance behind the bezel face before you start stacking contact blocks.
2) Does the M22-WS-MS5 come with contact blocks, or do I have to order those separately?
No contacts are included. What ships is the key-operated actuator itself, one key, and one contact block mounting adapter. You add the M22 contact blocks (and the latching or momentary count your circuit needs) as separate line items, so plan that into the order before the panel build.
3) Is this key switch maintained or does it spring back?
It springs back. The action is momentary with return from the right, so the contact only changes state while you hold the key over. If you need the switch to stay in the selected position for a lockout or an enable that has to hold, this is the wrong actuator and you want a maintained two-position key selector instead.
4) Can I get more than one of these key switches to use the same key?
Yes. The actuator is cut to key code MS5, so every M22-WS-MS5 shares the same key. That is how facilities standardize a run of machine panels on a single key for authorized operators. If you want a separate key for a particular panel, you need an M22 key actuator with a different code number.
5) In which position can the key be pulled out of the M22-WS-MS5?

Rated for 100,000 mechanical operations. For a key switch that is turned a handful of times per shift, that is a long service life; for a switch cycled constantly in production, work out your daily count against that figure before you spec it as the primary operator.

Non-illuminated. The actuator has a silver bezel with a black key barrel and no lamp or LED provision, so if the operator needs visual confirmation of the selected state you will need a separate M22 indicator light next to it.
