1) Is the Kraloy 78590 elbow a 1 inch Schedule 40 PVC conduit fitting?
Yes. The Kraloy B40STD1090 (part 78590) is a 1 inch, 90 degree standard radius elbow made from impact resistant Schedule 40 rigid nonmetallic PVC conduit material.
2) What are the two ends on the Kraloy B40STD1090 elbow, and do I need a coupling?
It is SPxBE: one spigot end and one bell end. The bell end accepts a length of 1 inch Schedule 40 conduit solvent welded straight in, so no separate coupling is needed on that side. The spigot end glues into the bell of the next fitting or coupling.
3) Can this PVC elbow be direct buried or encased in concrete?
Yes. The Kraloy 1 inch 90 degree Schedule 40 elbow is approved for exposed, concrete encased and direct burial installations, which covers a slab turn-up out of a duct bank as well as an above-grade run on a wall.

7) Do I need a different cement for a Schedule 40 electrical PVC elbow than for plumbing PVC?
Use PVC conduit solvent cement rated for electrical nonmetallic raceway. The bell end on this elbow is made for solvent weld fittings, so the joint is a cemented socket joint, not threaded and not a gasket.
8) Can I use this elbow for street lighting and utility runs, or is it residential only?
