Baldwin PD007102PRIV – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What backset does the Baldwin Palo Alto pocket door lock use?
A 2-1/2 inch backset, which is what sets the hole location from the leading edge of the pocket door. It differs from the 2-3/8 and 2-3/4 inch backsets used on standard swinging-door bored locks, so existing prep from a knob or lever won't line up.
2) Does the PD007 privacy pocket door set take a key?
It doesn't. The PD007 Palo Alto is a privacy (bed/bath) function set, not keyed, so it locks from the inside only. For a pocket door that needs key control from the outside, look for a keyed pocket door lock instead.
3) Is a strike included with the Baldwin PD007 pocket door privacy set?
Yes, a pocket strike comes with the set. That's the mortised strike for the jamb the door closes against, so you don't need to source it separately.
4) Is the Baldwin PD007 Palo Alto set rated for commercial use?
It's a residential set. For a hotel, school, or office pocket door where an ANSI/BHMA graded product is specified, this Estate Series privacy lock isn't the right choice.
5) What finish does the Baldwin Estate Palo Alto PD007 privacy set come in?
Oil Rubbed Bronze, Baldwin code 102. If you're matching other Estate Series hardware in a house, match on that 102 code rather than by eye.
