1) Will the Brady M61-R4310 ribbon work in my BMP61 or M611 label printer?
Yes. The M61-R4310 is an R4300 Series cartridge made for the BMP61 Labeling System and the BradyPrinter M611. Those are the only two printers it is listed for, so it will not drop into other Brady platforms such as handheld or benchtop models that take a different cartridge shell.
2) How wide a label can I print with the 2 inch Brady R4300 ribbon?
The ribbon is 2 inches (50.80 mm) wide, which is the full print width it can cover, and each cartridge holds 75 feet (22.80 m) of ribbon. Narrower label stock runs fine under it; anything wider than 2 inches of printed area will not be fully inked.
3) Does this Brady ribbon need threading or printer calibration when I change it?
No threading. The R4300 black ribbon is supplied as a self-contained cartridge with a Smart Cell chip, so the BMP61 or M611 reads the ribbon type and sets itself up when you drop it in. Maintenance techs can swap it mid-shift without tools.
4) Is a wax/resin ribbon durable enough for electrical panel and outdoor equipment labels?
Wax/resin is the mid-durability formulation, and this one is rated smear-resistant, solvent-resistant and weather-resistant. That covers panel schedules, conduit and asset tags in plant, warehouse and exterior equipment locations where print gets handled or wiped down.
5) Is the Brady R4300 ribbon RoHS compliant and does it need an SDS for our facility?
It passes EU RoHS 2011/65/EU including 2015/863, contains no heavy metals, and no SDS is required for it. It is not a DOT regulated product for shipping. It does contain a California Prop 65 substance, though Brady states a label is not required.
6) How many ribbons come in a box of Brady M61-R4310?
One ribbon cartridge per box, in black. If you are stocking a crib for multiple BMP61 or M611 printers, order a cartridge per printer plus spares rather than expecting a multi-pack.
