1) Which Brady label printers does the M71-R4300 ribbon cartridge fit?
The M71-R4300 is built for the Brady BMP71 label printer only. It is a printer-specific cartridge, so it drops into the BMP71 without threading the ribbon or running a calibration. It will not load in other Brady handhelds or benchtop printers.
2) What width of BMP71 label stock does the 2 inch R4300 ribbon cover?
The ribbon is 2 inches (50.8 mm) wide, so it covers BMP71 label material up to 2 inch print width. If your labels are narrower that's fine, the ribbon just overhangs the print area, but a label wider than 2 inches will leave an unprinted strip. Roll length is 150 feet per cartridge.
3) Wax resin or full resin ribbon for chemical exposure on BMP71 labels?
The R4300 is a wax/resin formulation and it is rated chemical-resistant and smear-resistant, which covers most plant-floor exposure to solvents, oils and handling. It is recommended for paper and film stock with a matte or rough surface, such as B-427 self-laminating vinyl and B-499 nylon cloth. On glossy or very smooth synthetic label faces a resin ribbon is the better match, because wax/resin does not anchor as well to slick surfaces.
4) Do I need to load the R4300 ribbon a particular way around in the BMP71?
No orientation guesswork. The R4300 is supplied ink side out inside a sealed cartridge, so the wind direction is already set by the housing. You drop the cartridge in and the printer is ready, with no threading or calibration step.
5) Is the Brady R4300 ribbon RoHS compliant for our facility's environmental documentation?
Yes. The R4300 passes EU RoHS 2011/65/EU including the 2015/863 amendment, and it does not contain heavy metals. It does contain a California Proposition 65 listed substance, though Brady notes a Prop 65 label is not required on the product.
6) How many ribbons come in a box of Brady M71-R4300?
One ribbon cartridge per box. If you are stocking a cart or standardizing several BMP71 printers across a facility, order one cartridge per printer plus your spares count, at 150 feet of ribbon each.
