Bobrick 353-25 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which Bobrick units does the B-353-25 lock and key replace?
The B-353-25 is the replacement lock and key for the Bobrick B-3094 and for the B-357 disposal unit built before May 1994. The B-357 in that vintage is a discontinued model, so if you are servicing an older washroom cabinet rather than replacing it, this is the lock that goes back in.
2) Will the Bobrick B-353-25 lock fit a B-357 disposal unit made after May 1994?
No. The B-353-25 is specified for B-357 disposal units built before May 1994. Later production changed, so a post-1994 B-357 needs the lock keyed and cut for that revision, not this one. Check the build date on the unit before ordering.
3) Does the B-353-25 come with the key or is that ordered separately?
It ships as a lock and key set, so you get both the cylinder and its key in one part number. Nothing separate to order for keying.
4) I manage several restrooms with Bobrick cabinets, can I standardize locks across them with this part?
Only across the units it is listed for. The B-353-25 covers the B-3094 and pre-May-1994 B-357 disposal units, and it is a washroom accessory lock, not a general partition or toilet-compartment lock. Bobrick uses different lock parts across its cabinet families, so other models on your floor will likely take a different replacement number. Match the lock to each cabinet model rather than assuming one lock covers the building.
5) Is the Bobrick B-353-25 a toilet partition door latch?
No, and this is a common mix-up. It is a cylinder lock and key for a Bobrick washroom accessory cabinet, the B-3094 and the older B-357 disposal unit. If you need to secure a toilet compartment door you want a partition latch and strike set, not a cabinet lock.
6) How is the Bobrick B-353-25 ordered, are there different versions?
One configuration only, model number 353-25. There is no finish, keyway or handing choice to specify, so the single part number is the whole order.
