Bobrick 3699 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How many paper towels does the Bobrick B-3699 hold, and what fold does it take?
It holds 350 C-fold towels or 475 multifold. Only those two folds; it is a manual folded-towel cabinet, not a roll dispenser, so if your building standard is hardwound roll this is the wrong unit. For a busy public restroom, plan service around the 475 multifold figure.
2) How big is the waste bin in the B-3699 combination towel dispenser?
Two gallons (7.6 L), in a removable container. That is a small bin by commercial standards, sized for a single-fixture or low-traffic restroom. In a high-traffic public washroom you'll be emptying it more than once a day, so consider a larger combination unit or a separate floor receptacle alongside it.
3) Is the Bobrick B-3699 stainless steel, and will it hold up in a public restroom?
The cabinet is satin-finish stainless steel throughout, including the surface-mount skirt. Satin hides fingerprints and scratches better than a mirror polish, which is why it's the usual pick for schools, airports and other heavy-use public washrooms. The door is retained by a knob latch.
4) How is the B-3699 serviced, and does it need a key?
Servicing is manual and tool-free: a knob latch retains the door, so custodial staff turn the knob to open the cabinet, reload towels, and lift out the waste container to empty it. No key is involved, which speeds up routes but also means the cabinet isn't secured against tampering. Where vandalism is a concern, spec a tumbler-locked unit instead.
5) How much wall space do I need to plan for the B-3699 towel dispenser and waste unit?
Allow 14-1/4 inches of wall width and 28 inches of height, with 4-1/4 inches of projection off the face. Set the mounting height so the towel opening lands within reach for your ADA-compliant fixture layout, and keep the 4-1/4 inch projection clear of door swings and lavatory edges in tight toilet rooms.
6) What finish does the Bobrick B-3699 come in?
One finish only, satin stainless. There's no powder-coat or mirror-polish option on this model, so it will match other satin stainless Bobrick washroom accessories on the same wall without a finish call-out on the order.
