Bobrick 3944-30 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does the Bobrick B-3944-30 lock and key actually fit?
It's the replacement lock and key for a Bobrick towel dispenser, and it's cut for a 1.5 inch latch. That latch dimension is the thing to check before ordering: measure the latch on the dispenser you're servicing, and if it isn't 1.5 inches, this isn't the right lock for that cabinet.
2) I lost the key to a Bobrick towel dispenser. Do I have to replace the whole unit?
No. The B-3944-30 is sold as a lock and key set, so a lost key on a Bobrick towel dispenser is a parts swap, not a cabinet replacement. You get a new lock cylinder and its key together, which is what you want anyway when a key has gone missing on a public washroom, since the old key no longer opens the cabinet once the lock is changed.
3) Will one Bobrick B-3944-30 key open all the towel dispensers in my building?
Each B-3944-30 comes with its own lock and key, so ordering several does not by itself give you one key that opens every cabinet. If a single key across a floor or a building matters to your cleaning staff, that is a keying decision to settle before you buy quantity, not something the part number alone delivers.
4) Is the Bobrick B-3944-30 lock a steel part?
Steel is the finish it ships in, and it's the only one offered. For an MRO or facilities buyer standardizing washroom hardware across a building, that means every B-3944-30 you order arrives the same, so there's no finish decision to make on the order form.
