Bobrick 3974-63 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does the Bobrick B-3974-63 part actually include?
The B-3974-63 is a matched pair, one left support and one right support, for a Bobrick roll paper towel dispenser. You get both sides in the set, so you are not ordering handed parts separately. These are the supports the towel roll rides on inside the cabinet, not the dispenser cabinet itself.
2) Which Bobrick towel dispensers do the 3974-63 supports fit?
Bobrick lists the 3974-63 supports for use with Model Nos. B-3974, B-39747, B-3979 and 3974-50. If the dispenser in your washroom is one of those roll towel units, this is the correct replacement pair. Any other Bobrick model number on the cabinet, and this is not the part.
3) My roll towel dispenser won't let the roll turn freely, do I need a whole new dispenser?
Not if the cabinet is sound. On a Bobrick B-3974, B-39747, B-3979 or 3974-50 roll towel unit, the roll rides on a left and right support, and a bent, cracked or missing support is the usual reason a roll binds or drops. The 3974-63 set replaces both sides at once, which keeps the roll seated square rather than swapping one side and leaving the worn one in place.
4) Can I order just the left or just the right Bobrick towel support?
The 3974-63 is sold as a set of both. One left and one right come together as a single replacement part, so a facility replacing one damaged side still receives the pair. For fleet maintenance across a building that works in your favour, the spare side goes on the shelf for the next unit.
5) Will the Bobrick 3974-63 supports work in a folded towel or C-fold dispenser?
No. These supports are for roll paper towel dispensers, specifically Bobrick B-3974, B-39747, B-3979 and 3974-50. A multifold or C-fold cabinet has no roll to carry and no supports of this kind, so there is nothing for this part to fit.
