Bobrick 6737X24 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How far does the Bobrick B-6737 towel bar stick out from the wall?
The B-6737 square towel bar projects 3-1/4 inches off the wall face, which is enough clearance to hang a folded bath towel or washcloths without them pressing flat against the wall. In a tight restroom or a narrow accessible stall, measure that projection against door swing and clear floor space before you set the mounting height.
2) How does the Bobrick B-6737x24 towel bar attach to the wall, and are the fasteners visible?
It mounts to the surface of the wall on two concealed 16-gauge stainless steel wall plates. You fasten the plates first, slide the bar over them, and lock it down with stainless steel set screws, so no screw heads show on the finished bar. Anchors are not part of the bar itself, so pick fasteners to suit your substrate, whether that is tile over block, drywall with backing, or a stud.
3) Is a square towel bar or a round one better for a commercial restroom?
The choice is mostly about matching what is already in the room. The B-6737 uses 3/4 inch square rolled tubing with a squared-off profile, which suits contemporary and square-edge accessory suites. If the rest of your washroom hardware, grab bars and tissue holders are round tube, a round bar will read as a better match. Function is the same either way, the square section just gives towels a flatter bearing surface.
4) Will this Bobrick towel bar hold up in a high-traffic public restroom or a gym locker room?
It is built for commercial and institutional use: all-welded stainless steel construction with 16-gauge stainless mounting plates and set screws that resist casual removal. Stainless resists corrosion in wet, humid rooms and takes cleaning chemicals better than plated steel. There is no exposed screw head to back out or be picked at, which is why this style shows up in schools, hotels and healthcare washrooms.
5) What finish is the Bobrick B-6737 square towel bar, and will it match other satin stainless washroom accessories?
Satin finish stainless steel. That is the same brushed look used across most commercial washroom accessory lines, so it sits well next to satin stainless grab bars, soap dispensers and mirror frames. It will not match polished chrome or bright stainless, which reflect rather than diffuse.
6) Can the Bobrick B-6737x24 be recessed into the wall?
No. It is a surface mounted bar only, fixed to the finished wall face on two concealed plates. If you need a flush or recessed towel arrangement you need a different accessory type entirely, not this one.
