Bobrick 7672 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the B-76727 robe hook ADA compliant?
The B-76727 is listed as ADA compliant, and its 1-7/8 inch projection is what makes that work, since a wall-mounted item in an accessible route has to stay shallow. Mounting height still has to be set by your accessible reach-range requirement at install.
2) What finishes does the Bobrick B-76727 come in?
Two: satin finish and bright (polished) finish. Both are 18-8 type 304 stainless steel, so pick based on what the rest of the washroom accessories are, satin to match brushed grab bars and dispensers, bright if the room is trimmed in polished chrome.
3) Will this hook hold up in a high-traffic hotel or commercial restroom?
It is built for that use. The body is 18-8 type 304 stainless steel, and the flange and support arm are all-welded rather than assembled, then fastened to a concealed wall plate. That construction is what keeps a hook from loosening or twisting when guests hang wet towels and bags on it every day.
4) Does the B-76727 mount on the surface of the wall or does it need recessing?
Surface mount. The concealed wall plate is fastened to the wall first and the welded hook assembly covers it, so there is no wall cutout and no in-wall rough-in to coordinate with a framer. That makes it usable on an existing finished wall, including a retrofit over tile.
5) Do I need to buy anchors or screws separately for the Bobrick B-76727?
No, installation hardware ships with the hook. Note that the supplied fasteners are general purpose, so if you are anchoring into a substrate like solid tile over concrete or a hollow metal partition, verify the included anchors suit it before the crew goes out.
6) What is the difference between a double robe hook like the B-76727 and a single hook?
The double gives two hanging points off one mounting footprint, one at the top of the contoured hook and one below, so a guest can hang a robe and a towel without a second unit or a second set of holes. In a guest room bath or a fitness locker area that halves the number of wall penetrations for the same capacity. If you only need one hanging point per door or per stall, a single hook is the simpler spec.
7) Can I use the B-76727 in a wet shower area or pool locker room?
Yes. Type 304 stainless steel is the standard corrosion-resistant grade for washroom accessories in wet, frequently cleaned environments, which is why it is used here. Follow normal stainless care and avoid abrasive or chloride-based cleaners so the finish stays uniform.
