Bobrick 828 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size hole does the Bobrick B-828 need in the countertop?
Size the deck opening to the dispenser's 3-7/8 inch diameter. On a lavatory or countertop that already has a standard accessory hole, check the existing cutout against that figure before you pull the old unit.
2) Is the Bobrick B-828 touch-free, and does it need to be wired in?
It's an automatic, touch-free dispenser running on battery power, so no electrical rough-in at the lavatory is required. A low battery indicator tells housekeeping when to swap cells rather than waiting for a dead unit.
3) Can I use my own bulk soap in the B-828 or does it take cartridges?
Bulk fill, not cartridges. The SureFlo B-828 takes universal bulk foam soap and fills from the top of the counter, so a porter refills it without crawling under the lavatory or swapping a proprietary pack. It dispenses foam only, so it is the wrong unit if your facility standardizes on liquid or gel lotion soap.
4) Is the Bobrick B-828 ADA compliant for a public restroom?
Yes, the B-828 is listed as ADA compliant, and the touch-free sensor means no grasping or twisting to operate it. Placement in the lavatory deck still has to meet your reach-range requirements.
5) How much soap does the B-828 hold before it needs a refill?
The reservoir holds 34 fl oz (1.0 L) of bulk foam soap. Foam uses less product per activation than liquid, and the dispenser has a portion control feature so you can tune the shot size against traffic in a high-use washroom.
6) What finish and material is the Bobrick B-828 SureFlo?
Polished chrome finish over an ABS plastic body. That matches most standard chrome lavatory faucet trim, which matters when you are adding dispensers to an existing restroom and want the deck hardware to read as one set.
