Metallics BHC455M Bolts 3/8-16 x 1 HXBT St-zn (Box 5000)

It's a 3/8-16 hex bolt, 1 inch long. Thread count is 16 threads per inch, which is standard coarse (UNC) for a 3/8 inch diameter, and the measured shank diameter runs 0.360 to 0.388 inch. Threads are made to ASME B18.2.1-1996, so it mates with any standard 3/8-16 nut or tapped hole.

The BHC455M is zinc plated steel, which is a coating meant for dry indoor and sheltered service. It handles normal humidity in a mechanical room or ceiling space fine, but for direct weather exposure, wash-down areas, or anything coastal, go to hot dip galvanized or stainless in the same 3/8-16 x 1 size instead. Zinc plating will eventually bloom white and then rust in those conditions.

A 3/8-16 hex bolt with a 9/16 head works through strut, channel, and punched angle whenever you can get a nut or a channel nut on the back side. If you're fastening into a strut channel nut or spring nut, that's exactly what this is for. Where you can't reach the back of the member, a hex bolt is the wrong choice entirely, use a self drilling screw, a toggle, or a threaded anchor instead.
