1) Is the 3/8-16 thread on the BHC45M coarse or fine thread?
Coarse. At 16 threads per inch, a 3/8 inch bolt is UNC coarse thread, so it mates with standard 3/8-16 nuts, strut channel nuts, and tapped coarse holes. A 3/8-24 fine nut will not thread on.
2) How many bolts come in a box, and can I buy fewer than a full box?
The BHC45M ships as a box of 1,000 bolts, and 1,000 pieces is the order minimum. Smaller counts and other lengths in the same 3/8-16 pattern are available by request.
3) Can I use these zinc plated steel bolts outdoors or in a damp mechanical room?

For direct weather exposure, roof curbs, or wet or corrosive environments, step up to hot dip galvanized or stainless 3/8-16 hardware instead, since plating is a thin sacrificial coating rather than a heavy galvanized layer.
