1) Will these bolts hold up in a damp mechanical room or outdoors?
These are steel with a zinc finish, which suits indoor electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning work and damp-but-sheltered locations. Zinc plating is not a marine or sustained-wet coating; for exterior exposure or washdown areas go to the stainless version of the family, the JSHTB series in 18-8 stainless.
2) What strength grade are these 3/8-16 hex tap bolts?
Minimum tensile strength is 60,000 psi, with hardness Rockwell B69 to B100. That is low-carbon commercial grade, fine for hanging conduit, strut, fixtures and equipment supports. If your drawing calls out a Grade 5 or Grade 8 bolt for a structural or high-torque connection, this is not the fastener for it.
3) Do these Metallics bolts meet Buy American or ARRA requirements for a public project?
No. The JHTB88 is not Buy American compliant and not ARRA compliant, and country of origin is listed as multiple. If your contract carries a domestic-content clause, this bolt will not satisfy it.
4) How are these sold, loose or in a package?
