Fine thread. The JSBH404 is 3/8-24, meaning 24 threads per inch, so it mates with 3/8-24 fine thread nuts and tapped holes only. A 3/8-16 coarse nut will not run onto it. Shank outside diameter measures 0.3690 to 0.3750 in.

18-8 austenitic stainless gives general atmospheric corrosion resistance, which covers exterior mounting, damp mechanical rooms, and chemical or food-processing equipment. Aggressive chemical exposure, chlorides, or marine salt spray are a different story: those call for 316 stainless or another specified corrosion-resistant alloy rather than 18-8.

Head width across flats runs 0.551 to 0.562 in., which is a 9/16 inch wrench or socket. Head height is 15/64 in., so clearance under a tight bracket is minimal.

Tensile strength is 100,000 to 150,000 psi minimum with a 65,000 psi minimum yield and hardness of Rockwell B95-C32. If a drawing calls out a specific SAE or ASTM grade, match the grade, not just the diameter.
