The MBR200WHWS comes as a wood screw and saddle version, so it fastens directly into wood framing, joists, studs, or blocking with the screw and saddle supplied. Nothing else is needed for a wood substrate. If you are fastening to steel stud, concrete, or threaded rod instead, this is the wrong variant, you would need a bridle ring configured for that mounting method.

It is a 2 inch bridle ring used to support and route low-voltage and communications cable runs, alarm wire, or conductors above ceilings and along joists and studs. The ring holds the cable bundle off the structure so the run stays organized and does not rest on ceiling grid or ductwork. It is not a conduit support and not a substitute for a raceway, it is an open cable-support loop.

The 2 inch loop size refers to the inside ring diameter, which is the space available for the cable bundle. In practice a 2 inch ring is one of the larger common sizes and suits a sizable bundle of Cat5e/Cat6 or similar low-voltage cable. Standard practice is to keep the bundle loose in the ring rather than packed tight, so size the ring to the finished bundle, not just the day-one cable count.

The ring is steel with a zinc finish. Zinc plated steel is intended for dry interior use such as above ceilings and in interior wall cavities. For exterior runs, parking structures, or consistently damp or corrosive environments, choose a stainless or hot dip galvanized support instead.
