Cahaba CAVT61DBBB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Cahaba 61 inch quartz double vanity top come with the sinks already installed?
It arrives pre-assembled with two vitreous china trough basins already attached, so there is no bowl setting or sealing on site. Mounting hardware is included, and the matching backsplash comes with it. Each basin is a rectangular bowl at 18 inches wide, 13 inches long and 6 inches deep.
2) Can I use an 8 inch widespread faucet on the Cahaba CAVT61DB, or is it single hole only?
Each bowl position is drilled for a single hole faucet, with pilot holes already marked for an optional 8 inch widespread. If you want the widespread, those pilots have to be opened up before install, so plan that step with your fabricator or do it before the top goes on the cabinet. Order two faucets, since this is a two bowl top.
3) Where do the drains sit on this Cahaba double trough vanity top, and will that affect my P-trap rough-in?
Drain placement is rear on both bowls, with the basins 6 inches deep and an overflow included. Rear drains push the tailpiece back toward the wall, so a center-drain rough-in may need the trap arm shifted. Confirm your waste stub location against the bowl centers before you set the top, and keep access open behind the cabinet back panel.
4) What finish colors does the Cahaba CAVT61DB quartz vanity top come in?
Three quartz colors: Morning Frost, Broadway Black and Rocky Mountain, all in a polished finish. The quartz is Daltile ONE Quartz, made in the USA, and it needs no sealing. If you are standardizing finishes across multiple units in a building, pick one color and order the matching sidesplash, model CASSMF21, which is sold separately.
5) How much does the Cahaba 61 inch quartz vanity top weigh, and can two people set it?
121 pounds as shipped with the basins attached. That is a two-person lift at minimum, and because the slab is only 0.78 inch thick it has to be carried on edge rather than flat to avoid cracking. Make sure the cabinet is leveled and shimmed before the top goes down, since quartz will not forgive a twisted base.
6) Is quartz a good choice for a high-traffic apartment or hotel bathroom vanity top?
It holds up well in rental and hospitality turnover work. The Daltile ONE Quartz surface is stain resistant and scratch resistant and requires no sealing, so there is no annual maintenance the way there is with granite or natural stone. The bowls are vitreous china, which cleans with standard bathroom products. For a 60 inch double bowl opening this is the low-upkeep option over a cultured marble top.
7) What is the 8-1/4 inch height on the Cahaba CAVT61DB measuring, and does the backsplash come attached?
The 8-1/4 inch figure is the overall height of the assembly including the matching backsplash that ships with it, not the slab thickness. The slab itself is 0.78 inch. Factor that backsplash height in if you have a mirror, outlet or tile band set at a fixed height above the cabinet.
