1) Does the Camden CM-1205 key switch come with a mortise cylinder?
No cylinder is included with the CM-1205. It accepts virtually any 1 inch to 1-1/4 inch mortise cylinder and cam, so you order the cylinder separately and key it to whatever keyway the building already uses.
2) Is the CM-1205 a momentary or maintained key switch, and is the contact normally open or normally closed?
The CM-1205 is SPST momentary with a normally closed contact. Turning the key breaks the circuit for as long as it is held, then it springs back. That makes it suited to interrupting a circuit, such as dropping power to a maglock or breaking a monitored loop, rather than latching a state on. If you need a contact that closes on key turn, specify a normally open version instead.
3) Can I key the CM-1205 to match the rest of the building's locks?
Yes, as long as your keyway is available in a standard mortise cylinder. The switch takes any 1 inch to 1-1/4 inch mortise cylinder and cam, so a locksmith can supply one in the facility's existing keyway and master key system.
4) Will a Camden key switch hold up in a high traffic commercial entrance?
Yes. The Camden key switch line uses stainless steel construction and is specified for commercial use, which is what you want on an exterior or lobby opening where the plate gets hit and cleaned constantly.
5) Does the CM-1205 key switch need any wireless receiver or network connection?
No. It is a hard wired mechanical key switch with no wireless communication, so it wires directly into the access control circuit, maglock power or door controller as a dry contact device.

The switch mounting bracket ships pre-assembled, so on a rough-in that already has a single gang box you are setting the cylinder, landing two wires on the SPST contact and fastening the stainless plate. No bracket build-up on site.
