1) Will the Camden CM-300 exit switch fit a standard single gang electrical box?
Yes. The CM-300 comes on a single gang stainless steel faceplate, with an overall plate footprint of 4-1/2 x 2-3/4 x 1-5/16 inches. If you are mounting on a narrow door jamb where a single gang plate won't fit, the CM-310 narrow version of the same series is the one to order.
2) Can I wire the CM-300 push button to break a maglock circuit directly?
The contact block is SPDT Form C momentary rated 3 A at 30 VDC, so you get both a normally closed and a normally open leg from one button. That lets you interrupt a maglock's power through the NC contact and simultaneously signal the access panel through the NO contact. Stay inside the 3 A rating, and use a relay if the lock draws more.
3) Is the CM-300 a momentary button or does it latch?
Momentary only. Press and the contacts transfer, release and they return, so the door releases for as long as the controller's timer allows rather than staying unlocked. If you need a maintained on/off control for a night latch or a hold-open, this is not the switch.
4) What does the button on the Camden CM-300 look like and what does it say?
A red LED illuminated button measuring 5/8 by 7/8 inch, marked EXIT, set in a stainless steel plate in US/C 32D satin stainless finish. The same series is also offered with a green button if your facility standard calls for green request-to-exit devices.
