1) Do I need a surface box if I'm mounting a Camden column switch on a concrete or block wall?
Yes, that is exactly the case the CM-75SB covers. On concrete, block, or any wall you cannot cut into for a recessed back box, the CM-75SB mounts the CM-7536 on the surface and takes up to 3/4 inch conduit for the wire run. If you are going into stud wall and can recess the switch, you do not need this box.
2) Does the Camden CM-75SB come with the column switch, or do I order that separately?
The CM-75SB is the back box on its own. The CM-7536 column switch is a separate order, so a complete surface-mounted installation means both parts plus your 3/4 inch conduit and fittings.
3) What finish does the Camden CM-75SB surface box come in?
One finish only: powder coat electrical grey. There is no stainless or painted-to-match option, so if the column switch is going somewhere the finish is visible and has to match other hardware, plan on field painting or on a different mounting approach.
4) Does the Camden CM-75SB have any electronics or wireless in it?
No. The CM-75SB is a plain steel enclosure, not an electronic device, and it has no wireless communication. All switching and any radio or relay function lives in the CM-7536 column switch that mounts into it, so the box itself needs no power and nothing to commission.
