That's what the CEB Series cover plate is for. It covers old bore holes and paint lines left behind when a previous lock is pulled off the door. You get two plates in the pack, one for each face of the door, so both sides of the opening look finished instead of just the pull side.
2) Does the Centrios cover plate work with both cylindrical and mortise Centrios locks?
Both. The CE-COVERPLATE supports Centrios cylindrical and mortise locks, so you don't order a different plate depending on which body is going on the door.
